Abstract:

Introduction: currently, stress is known as one the most important issue among societies which may have positive or negative results. Stress is caused when there is not a harmony between job demands, capabilities and desires of a person. Most of the behavioral, physical and mental disorders are results of job stress. The objective of this study was Validity and Reliability analysis of NIOSH Generic Job Stress Questionnaire (GJSQ), in order to have an appropriate tool for evaluation and analysis of job stress in Iran.Material and Method: In this study, 228 members of Tehran fire-fighting office were chosen according to categorical and clustering sampling, methodology and they completed NIOSH Generic Job Stress Questionnaire (GJSQ). For Validity and Reliability of questionnaire, 20 persons of the group were chosen for content validity analysis of the questionnaire. For Reliability analysis of the result, Cronbach alpha test and in-cluster correlation test were used. SPSS software version 18 was used for analysis of the data.Result: The mean age of the participants was 30.8 years (SD=4.9) and the average of job tenure in firefighting office was 7.4 years (SD=4.8). In order to reliability analyze the questionnaire, Cronbach alpha coefficient of all influential factors was obtained more than 0.7. In-cluster correlation coefficient of the questionnaire is calculated using retesting on all influential factors. With the exception of Physical Environment and Mental Demands which were about average, all other coefficients were over 0.7, which is a very appropriate result. Conclusion: Considering that Validity and Reliability factors of the questionnaire were be appropriate, it can be recommended that NIOSH Generic Job Stress Questionnaire (GJSQ) can be used as a Valid and Reliable questionnaire for job stress evaluation in Iran.

Background and Objectives: Job stress is among the most common illnesses of our age. Studies indicate that job stress can stem from personal factors, nature and characteristics of jobs, organizational roles, organizational structure, relations, organization’s management, etc. Therefore, proper understanding and cognizance of job stress factors and adjusting and reducing them can pave the ground for organization’s improvement and flourishing. The present study aims at investigating job stress level among I. R. I Police University (IRIPU) graduates working in Tehran Police Stations.Method: The present research is of survey type. The variables impacting job stress dealt with in the present research are: personal features (age and gender), organizational structure, role’s characteristics, training and environmental resources. To assess the impact level of every variable, various methods such as simple and multi-variable regression analysis, Spearman, Man Whitney and CrosKal Wallice correlation coefficient is used. Statistical population of the study is IRIPU graduates (graduated in2001-2006) working in Tehran Police Stations. Statistical sample was randomly selected. With respect to omission of incorrect and incomplete questionnaires 107 correct questionnaires were accepted for statistical analysis.Findings: According to the findings of the study proved that there was no significant relationship between personnel individual characteristics (age, gender, being married) and environmental resources with personnel job stress; however, there is significant relationship between training, role features, and organizational structure. Conclusion: Based on multi-variable regression analysis, among independent variables organizational structure had the most part in predicting dependent variable behavior.

Abstract:

Background and aims: Job stress is an important factor in creating physical and mental problems for the employees and has negative consequences for the organization. The present study aims to examine job stress (decision making, performance evaluation, work load and responsibility/ authority) on job satisfaction of the accountants. Methods: This is an applied study using correlation analysis to examine the relationship between the variables. The required data is collected using JRTS questionnaire (Kahn et al.1964). The Michigan’s organizational assessment questionnaire is selected as the scale of job satisfaction. The population includes all accountants employed in manufacturing, merchandising and service enterprises of Yazd. Using simple random sampling, 179 individuals are selected between them as the sample. The data is also analyzed by LISREL software. Results: Due to the absolute value of the t-statistic 2.72 and the negative amount of impact 0.20, it can be concluded that job stress have a significant and negative impact on job satisfaction. Further, according to the absolute value of the t-statistic for the decision, performance evaluation and workload that is less than 1.96, it can be concluded that these components have no significant effect on job satisfaction. The absolute value of t-statistics of the components of responsibility / authority is equal to 2.44 and the amount of impact is negative and equal to 0.52; therefore, it can be concluded that the responsibility / authority have a significant and negative impact on job satisfaction. Conclusion: Considering the impact of job stress on job satisfaction, implementing effective strategies by managers is imperative to reduce job stress of accountants such as specifying the scope of work and giving sufficient authority to perform job responsibilities.

Predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria were as follows: papers related to JS among military nurses, papers published in Persian or English language, types of papers as being original, and available free full text for all the papers. Results: In the initial search, 120 papers were found, of them, after reviewing the titles and abstracts of articles and removing repetitive and non-related, 30 possible related articles were investigated. Of these, 18 papers were omitted from the abstract because of lack of access to the original article. Finally, 12 papers were included in this study. In general, the results of these studies showed that the experience military nurses in warfare that help to identify and analyze problems during Wartime, as well as adaptation facilitating and better coping of health care providers in unusual and critical conditions. Abstract:

The relationship between stress and job occupation in medical oriented jobs should be analysed carefully. This study was done to clarify the job stress of nurses who work at the hospital of Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Sciences. A total of 96 graduated nurses with technical diploma, B.S and M.A degrees were selected. The results from professional as well as personal sections I showed that both stress and heavy work were the most important parameters. The people under this investigation did not have good methodology for preventing job stress. In addition, stress causes depression, avoiding the patients, unnecessary absences and reduction of job quality. Therefore, more attention should be given to nursing staff in order to lower the job related stresses
